The problem of improving the genetic potential of the dairy cattle at the present stage of development of the agricultural sector. The basic reasons restraining increase in the production of milk: the deterioration of the gene pool due to failure, in some cases, on artificial insemination of cows and heifers of high value seed bulls tested for quality; absence, a number of farms, zootechnic accounting controls are not carried out milking and evaluation dates. The article presents the results of research of the histological structure of muscle tissue of pigs of different breeds and combinations in the conditions of industrial technology. Detected breed specificity of the formation of muscle fibers of the experimental groups. Purebred animals was characterized by the yield of lean meat. Pigs combinations ♀LW × ♂DUSS; ♀DUSS × ♂LW; ♀L × ♂LW; ♀LW × ♂L marked "marbling" of muscle tissue, meat tender. Young animals ща crossbred genotypes ♀L × ♂DUSS and ♀DUSS × ♂L has a lean, dry meat. Analysis of the results of histological monitoring convincingly proved that the crossbreeding is quite a powerful factor that forms the exterior features and determines the specific micro-level organizations of somatic musculature.

The results of the analysis of changes in the indices of reproductive traits of sows in four successive generations of Ukrainian meat breed (P, F₁, F₂, F₃), subject to the traditional selection of gilts, are given in the article. It has been established that animals of generations F₁, F₂, F₃ were inferior sows by P-generation on all investigated parameters except mass of piglet at birth and litter size. It can be concluded that the traditional estimate of sows and selection of gilt, which are based on it, does not increase the genetic potential of the animals.

Were demonstrated morphological changes, that happen in peripheral blood under effect of the drug Subalin in trial group of BALB/c mice, infected by a Rauscher leukemia virus (RLV). The RLV causes the death of 100% of the animals. The introduction of the drug Subalin did not prolong lifespan of the contaminated animals and their death rate did not reduce. The RLV generates an increasing erythropenia and leukopenia in the hyperplastic period of disease. The amount of leucocytes of contaminated animals restores during the terminal stage of leukosis. The leukogram of the infected mice is characterized by intensification of the degenerative left shift, eosinophilia and monocytosis. Under effect of the Subalin occurs the leveling of hematological indexes and leukopoiesis of the RLV-infected mice. The use of the drug Subalin among mice infected with RLV, results in stabilization of hematological indexes and leukopoiesis. Increase in amount of metamyelocytes is observed in the terminal period among the infected mice.
